Top 10 legal software in China

Today, I've decided to dive a bit into the unknown. China, as a country and legal system, has always presented an interest to me. As an emerging country with its growth driven by its Government' "way of doing things", it is very interesting to watch the role it plays in the international legal technology scene. I personally find it very intriguing and exciting to watch how countries, outside of the Silicon Valley, are keeping up with the legal tech trends.

My team and I have dedicated some time to put together the top 10 legal software used in China. It was not an easy task, I will tell you, and obviously our goal was not to come up with a list set in stone, but rather get an idea of how similar matters are handled in a different part of the world.

  •     Research identified BQE Core Legal on the top of the list, not so much spoken about in the United States. What I like about this platform is that it allows you, among other things, to monitor customer expectations, which I think is very important and monitors, controls, and improves marketing and sales campaigns. Additionally, the platform is audit tested for Government Contract Single-Click DCAA Compliance.
  •     The next one on our list was ProTempus. While software like Clio takes pride in offering the cloud-based solution to its clients, ProTempus sets its platform apart by providing a powerful technology that keeps data on the local network, instead of having it floating on the cloud.
  •     Denovo is another law practice management platform that allows attorneys, law firms and individuals practicing law to simplify their practice. In addition to the features, which are pretty much found in every platform on the market, Denovo offers integration with DoSign and Amiqus. The integration with Amicus, allows clients to complete their ID checks from the comfort of their own home.
  •     App4Legal is so far the only platform that supports multiple languages and currencies, which I personally think is very progressive.
  •     We did mention SmokeBall in our previous writings. This platform is well known and used in the South part of the United States. One great feature that sets Smokeball apart from many other legal platforms is the ability to accurately track attorneys' and staff's whole day. In addition, it allows you to gain a deep understanding of profitability per matter and practice area. It also has the best onboarding, training and support from a team of legal professionals.
  •     Eclipse/Proclaim, a UK leading provider Case, Practice, Matter and Practice management software. This is a software designed for boutique, as well as, big law firms. It is known for its flexibility and being a complete solution for anyone who needs to automate tasks, keep the integrity of critical data and make more money for their organization.
  •     Captorra is a premier case intake and lead conversion software solution for law firms specializing in mass tort, personal injury, bankruptcy, criminal defense, and immigration. Designed exclusively for managing the case intake and lead management process, Captorra helps law firms convert potential leads into a new case.
  •     Jarvis Legal Jarvis Legal is a simple legal practice and case management software purpose-built for small and medium-sized law firms. 100% web-based, Jarvis Legal allows legal professionals to manage their time-tracking, clients, documents, cases, tasks, emails, calendars, billing, accounting, and reporting in a seamless manner. Other key features include collaborative editing, conflict management, trust accounting, and many more.
  •     ActionStep allows you to create a unique set of steps and tasks for each matter type, automate each step to collect information, assign tasks, and make sure everything is checked off before moving to the next step; delegate work to your staff with the assurance that everything will be done according to plan.
  •     MerusCase provides a comprehensive and fully - integrated out-of-box solution for legal firms and legal professionals. It helps your firm optimize its time, from a Child Support Calculator for Family Law cases to Employment or Workers’ Comp specific tabs, fields, and forms.

I personally think that each and every one of these legal software platforms is great and can enhance your practice in many different ways. Also, each and every one of these platforms can be viewed as the best one as long as it meets yours and your law firm needs. It all comes down to clients' preferences.

Based on what criteria are you choosing the right legal practice management for your firm?
