Our Purpose vs. The Purpose Put into a Machine

Everytime I think of the word "purpose" my mind takes me to the very early years of my life when life seemed like a fairytale and an endless opportunity. I still think that way, although some of my very old dreams have been crushed quite a few times. I strongly believe that a life lived without purpose is a life not worth living. Purpose should show up in our lives as the alarm clock, as the meals we are choosing for ourselves everyday, the activities we do, the places we travel to and of course what we choose to do for living. One should not take this decision lightly. Our purpose should ignite our eyes just at the thought of it. Unfortunately, oftentimes,...

Who do we trust in the Legal Tech era?

The concept of trust takes many shapes and forms in Rachel Botsman's book called "Who do we trust?". I personally found her book very unique and justifying with certainty the very famous statement, known to most of us "do not judge a book by its cover". Rachel Botsman managed to ask hundreds of people about what trust meant to them and to her surprise, the received answers were very different. What we know for sure is that trust is an interchangeable and constantly evolving concept. It is probably one of the most transforming terms that is constantly evolving and shaping our world. Will AI Replace the Legal Professional?

Advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) have been going forward at a rapid pace, and we have all seen the results in our day-to-day lives. Watching AI both create and eradicate jobs begs the question, “will AI ever be able to replace the legal professional?”. Fortunately, the answer is “no”, but the two will have to learn to co-exist. While AI will substantially change the way law firms work, those that chose to embrace it will find themselves with a significant advantage over their competitors. This new technology will automate and expedite the more routine work that comes with being a lawyer. According to Forbes.com, “It’s predicted AI will eliminate most paralegal and legal research positions within the next decade”. This...

Top 10 legal software in the US

Our Legal Software journey around the world, at least for now, will be resumed with the top ten used legal platforms in the US. The question that popped up in my head is "where did everything start"? I am tempted to say that the first legal software was designed in one of the  Silicon Valley' startups, however, I may be wrong. Research will show us eventually how and where this new legal tech wave has its origins, but I will talk about that in a different article. So, let's turn our focus towards the US.  So far, Clio came up as the leader in the US and we did see it coming up in other countries as well. Having personal...

Top 10 legal software in Australia

Looking back at all of the available resources out there on "how to change your paradigm", or "how to plan your life and be certain about where you will be in 10 years from now" I realize that an event like the pandemic can really turn the world upside down and make us realize that there are areas of our lives that cannot be predicted with certainty and we must be ok with it. It became so intuitive for us to not leave any room for errors, follow a trend or be enmeshed in a toxic positivity conscious, however, what we need to realize is that every single thing of this world has its place in our lives, at a...
