Can legal software practices become obsolete and if yes who/what will replace them?

Lately we have encountered many theories of conspiracy and since I am not too fond of them I really hope that this article will not sound like one. I would call it a look into the future by examining the past. We are living in the era of the Aquarius and many experts are promising big transformations on the collective level and because the Aquarius is the voice of the future to some extent, I find it very insightful to think about the future of the legal tech. I would relate my story to the fashion industry and the history of it. As we very well notice, fashion always returned. We went from very long and puffy dresses to very...

How to choose the right legal software to run your law firm?

Choosing the right legal software to run your law firm can be more challenging than you thought. I am always impressed by the creativity of those that create and try or do sell them to lawyers. Some think that the financial aspect can be a barrier and a qualifier when choosing the right one for you, however I would say that the real answer is that there is no software out there that would solve all the challenges lawyers face today. The union between technology and law became very popular in the last few years. Although, technology has not been the only disrupter of the legal industry, it was and still is one of the most popular. This innovative "friendship " takes me to my first internship, which involved nothing but sorting through a huge pile of dusty files. Also, one of my clients who seems so resistant to letting go of his physical files and every time I walk into his office, I feel like he may need to rent another floor just for his files. Luckily, he owns the entire building. You may find some humor in my stories, because I do too, however, this is the truth and...

What LegalZoom and WeVorce offer that traditional law firms don't?

We all know how challenging law can be. Each and every one of us has been affected by its dealings in one way or another. It is easy to minimize or ignore the role in plays in our day - to - day lives, however, when the time comes we all want to know what is the next right thing to do. Navigating the legal system sometimes can be daunting even for a legal professional. Every state, county and Judge has its own rules and the narrower your issue is, the more attention and customization it requires. The AI and specifically automation of some of the legal services gives us the impression that lawyers are becoming immaterial and the "do...
